MAS CAMP get-together!
EVERYONE is WELCOME!!
This year our Upcycled theme means carnival can be more AFFORDABLE for ALL. Our contribution to the Artform is to involve more people, and we do this by enabling people on a lower income, who may not have had the opportunity, to get involved.
How can we work TOGETHER to make a DIFFERENCE!?

MAS CAMPs take place in our quirky, uplifting and enjoyable setting of community involvement and carnival arts -C.A.F.E (Carnival-Arts-For-Everyone) near Brixton.
What can you expect from one of our Mas Camp open days?
– A chance to try your hand at creating bespoke costumes for
the UK’s BIGGEST street festival – NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL!
– A fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
– Child and young people-friendly space with lots of activities
to involve your little ones.
– High spirits with PLENTY of 2019’s biggest Soca Hits.
– easy-to-learn techniques and skills for creating costumes.
– A chance to talk directly with the designer and ask those burning questions!
– Deepening your understanding of the history (and future!) of carnival.

2019 CONTRIBUTIONS
SUNSHINE believes EVERYONE should be able to experience the JOY that is MAS. But how do we make it affordable? …with carnival costs rising each year, our MASCYCLE means costumes can be even more affordable for everyone. To build new costumes costs between £300-£500 for each one! Our UPCYCLED band breathes NEW LIFE into our repertoire of COUTURE COSTUMES!

Join us for an amazing day with the best seats in the house for Europe’s largest street festival. This is your chance!
