Creative Residency at C.A.F.E: Henrietta Alele 16th-18th November
C.A.F.E is proud to present the last one in the series of our 2016 Creative Residencies. We have hosted a bunch of talented people in our Main Arch to experiment with new ideas and develop their craft. This time we welcome local artist Henrietta Alele who will be presenting ‘Between the Lines: The Silent Word’, an exhibition of paintings and words. Join us for a private view on Thursday 17th November 6pm-8pm. The exhibition will be gracing our Main Arch between 16th-18th November 11am-5pm.

Join us for a Community Café and conversation. You are warmly invited to join this one off Community Café, sharing soup & ideas to help us live well in later life. We are all living longer but are we ageing well? How can we can ensure we live a good life, for life?

Shimmer Wall Design Workshop 26th November 12-3pm
Sunshine International Arts in collaboration with architecture and design studio make:good will be delivering a drop-in public art workshop at C.A.F.E open to all. The final design will be displayed on the Green Man Skills Zone building. An exciting opportunity to bring the community together, get creative and produce something to embellish the local area.
Kids’ Shimmer Zone- Running alongside our Shimmer Wall Design Workshop, our Kids Arts and Crafts activities will include shiny stickers, colourful feathers and take-away bits. Parents are welcome to join the adult design workshop or just help out their little ones.

LJ Christmas Market 3rd December 11am-5pm
Delivered in collaboration with Loughborough Junction Action Group. On the Small Business Day, support local by attending our colourful market, featuring the best of independent businesses. From craft to vintage, from cosmetics to jewellery it will be the perfect spot to grab a Christmas present for family and friends. In addition we will be providing the finest entertainment including local steel pan band Divine Steel, seasonal grub and mulled beverages.

Mulana Christmas Special @ Pop Brixton 12th – 18th December 12-7pm
We will be setting up a Mulana pop-up at Pop Brixton from 12th -18th December at Unit S13. Get a gift with a meaning and invest into ‘Mulana: The Art of People’: all proceeds from our hand embroidered cards and gifts by female artisans in Rajhastan, India go towards supporting families in the village of Mulana.
